Cohen Dental in Salt Lake City offers One-Visit CEREC Porcelain Dental Restorations

New Advanced CEREC technology provides a more precisely accurate crown than could ever be done by hand. Patients can now restore a tooth to its natural strength, beauty and functionality in one visit. Also, there is no need for an unpleasant tasting impression, a temporary crown or follow-up visit to have a new crown cemented. Cohen Dental has been Protecting and Perfecting Smiles for over thirty years as a trusted dentist in Salt Lake City, Utah.

One-Visit CEREC Porcelain Dental Restorations are a great solution for people who want a 100% porcelain crown. They are suitable for onlays for patients who want to repair a chipped or discolored tooth and for emergency situations. The process, which typically takes about an hour uses state-of-the-art computer technology to design and mill a precise-fitting tooth-colored restoration. The restoration is then bonded to the affected tooth to restore the tooth’s natural strength, beauty, and functionality.

“Patients who need crowns have complained about the time consuming and inconvenient process,” commented Dr. Dan Cohen DMD, principal dentist at Cohen Dental. To address the needs of his patients, he has undergone extensive training to master the techniques and computerized process.

“Now, with the CEREC porcelain process, along with special computers and software, we can finish the whole process in just over an hour. That means my patients are in and out in about the same time it takes to have their teeth cleaned!” states Dr. Cohen.

Dr. Cohen added: “Another great advantage is there is none of the bad taste associated with impressions taken as with the old method of putting in a temporary crown or the hassle and inconvenience of having patients accommodate their schedule to return to the office a few days later to place a new crown. Plus, this new CEREC technology provides a nicer, faster, and more precisely accurate crown than could ever be done by hand.”

Crowns

A crown restores a tooth that is damaged from trauma or decay.  Crowns are usually necessary to restore teeth that have had root canals. The tooth is prepared for the crown placement by the removal of some of the tooth structure. The new crown is cemented on the prepared tooth. With care and good oral habits, a crown will last for many years. Crowns are also placed on dental implants to replace missing teeth. Crowns may be made of gold or porcelain fused to metal. With new technology at Cohen Dental we can make a high-strength porcelain crown in our office in one visit with beautiful results.

Root Canal

When decay or damage goes untreated it can result in an infection to the pulp chamber of the tooth
After creating a small opening, very small instruments are used to clean and shape the root canal spaces
The cleaned spaces are filled with a biocompatible material and specialized cement to ensure complete sealing of the root canals
